Natalie Dormer, who plays the ambitious Margaery Tyrell on HBO's Game of Thrones has joined the cast of Lionsgate's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay parts 1 and 2. The studiomade the announcement via Twitter today.
Dormer is set to play Cressida, a resident director from the Capitol who plays a key role in turn of events in the third novel in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy. The third book is of course being split into two films.
The second installment in the film franchise, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, opens worldwide on November 22, with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 scheduled to open on November 21, 2014 and Mockingjay Part 2 on November 20, 2015.
Francis Lawrence directed Catching Fire and will also helm Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, as the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), a girl who becomes the unwitting figurehead of a rebellion against the Capitol government, continues to unfold.
